Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, and financial transaction data you enter or scan. We also collect anonymous usage analytics (crash reports, feature usage) to improve the App. We do NOT collect payment card details.

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used solely to provide and improve BudgetOS services. This includes syncing your data across devices, generating your financial reports and AI insights, and sending you service-related notifications. We do not use your data for advertising.

Data Storage & Security

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256. Your financial data is stored in isolated, access-controlled database environments. We undergo regular security audits.

AI & FinChat

When you use FinChat, your message and anonymised transaction summaries are sent to our AI service to generate a response. Raw transaction data and chat history are never permanently stored. No personal data is used to train AI models.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share anonymised, aggregated statistics for research. We share data only when legally required or with service providers under strict confidentiality agreements.

Family Sharing

When you use Family Sharing, the categories and accounts you choose to share become visible to connected family members. You control which data is shared and can revoke access at any time from Settings → Family Sharing.

Data Retention & Deletion

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly from the BudgetOS app under Settings → My Account → Delete Account. See our Delete Account page for full details on what is removed and step-by-step instructions.

You can also request deletion by emailing [email protected]. We will process deletion requests within 7 business days. Local data on your device can be cleared by uninstalling the App.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to object to or restrict processing; and to data portability. Contact us at [email protected] to exercise these rights.

Cookies & Analytics

The App uses anonymous crash reporting (no personally identifiable information). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking SDKs.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using BudgetOS ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

BudgetOS is a personal finance management application that helps you track income and expenses, scan receipts, manage budgets, and plan payments. The App is provided "as is" for personal, non-commercial use.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised access. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Data & Backups

Your financial data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to our secure servers. While we take every precaution to protect your data, we recommend keeping the mobile connected to wifi and mobile networks to ensure proper syncing with our secure servers. We are not liable for data loss caused by device failure.

5. Prohibited Uses

You may not: use the App for illegal financial activities; attempt to reverse-engineer the App; share your credentials with third parties; or use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the App.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and software in BudgetOS are owned by or licensed to BudgetOS Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written consent.

7. Limitation of Liability

BudgetOS provides financial tracking tools for informational purposes only. We are not a licensed financial advisor. The App does not constitute financial, investment, or legal advice. Use information from the App at your own discretion.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email.
